Although yoga has gained immense popularity across the world, the profound benefits of pranayama, or yogic breathing, remain largely hidden. Many people associate pranayama with simple breathing exercises, but it encompasses much more than just the intake of oxygen. Pranayama enables us to explore the vast potential of the breath, and harness its power to calm and balance the mind, regulate our body temperature, and manage our life force.

With a deeper understanding of pranayama, we can experience the truth that “energy follows awareness.” This means that our awareness or attention has the power to direct the flow of prana or life force within our bodies.

By developing a more refined awareness of our breath, we can tap into the vast reservoir of energy that resides within us, and use it to achieve a higher level of well-being, clarity, and focus.

The journey of pranayama practice is a transformative one that eventually leads us to connect with the Truth of our real nature, our true Self. This is the essence of yoga – to uncover the innermost core of our being, which is characterized by peace, joy, and harmony. The journey is open to everyone who wishes to discover the world of energy that pervades all beings in the universe.
